The Silvana Massolo Entrepreneurs Grant
Philanthropy is a core value for Massolo who recently launched the “Silvana Massolo Entrepreneurs Grant” at her Alma Mater, Florida International University. This grant is designed to aid alumni in investing in their own startups or small businesses, with preference given to people of color. Massolo is heavily involved with several organizations such as Casita Maria, a safe community, that enriches and uplifts families towards success, through art and educational programs, as well as Dress for Success Dallas, which recently honored her as a part of their “31 Days of Women in Power.”

Cris Abrego started his television career as a student at El Monte’s Mountain View High School. Now, he’s chairman of the Americas for reality TV giant, Banijay, which has rights to such hit shows as “Big Brother” and “MasterChef.”

The Latina dermatologist providing complete care for diverse patients
Dermatology Partner’s Lexington Park office serves a diverse community of people. In the first week of August, they were joined by Dr. Renata Ruiz, a dermatologist who seeks to connect to her patients by speaking their native language.
Born in Brazil, she learned Portuguese growing up, learned English to take classes in the U.S., and is now learning Spanish to speak to her patients in their own language. Dr. Ruiz graduated with a bachelor’s from Boston University, completed her medical degree at the University of Massachusetts, and continued on to complete her internal medicine internship and dermatology training at Brown University.
